The weather

Been a bit strange this year, we had a very wet June when normally it would be hot and dry. July and August have been very warm, but we've not used the aircon once. We manage the house temperature by shutting the windows and curtains in the rooms exposed to the sun. House temperature downstairs has been a steady 30 degrees during July and August.

I have a data logger, so can get an accurate temperature reading, plus can see trends over time.

Interesting that the recorded temperatures have been consistently 5-6 degrees lower than the Met Office App. Almost as though there's an hidden agenda that we're not aware of!

July

26th July was warm, but only 37 degrees.

The lack of rain is an issue for the garden, our water usage jumped from 7 cubic metres to 15 cubic meters, though when the bill comes to a fiver, maybe not such a concern!

Pure fiction! "Today" = 22nd July. We got nowhere near 40 degrees.

(I've calibrated the data logger against a digital and analogue thermometer and they're all within a gegree of each other).

Anyways, better than Bristol!

Winter (forecast for 16th Jan 2024)

Have just had a few days where the temperature has fallen to about -8C overnight and barely got above freezing during the day. A mini heatwave on it's way! Sure we'll have more snow and frosts during February. (Feb is the wettest month too)
