We came, we saw, we conferred and said No.

Some of the houses we viewed, some reasons why we liked them enough to view them and the reasons why we moved on.

5 Bedroom Former Observatory

An amazing property, 200k Euros, on top of a mountain (960m asl) with 360 degree panoramic views. This photo was taken from the Observatory, a circular building, designed (by Germany, Russia and Bulgaria) to withstand a magnitude 12 earthquake! The lower levels designed as a nuclear fallout shelter.

The major downside was its remoteness and potential for being snowed in for weeks! Also, at the other end of the summit is a Television broadcasting station, not sure being irradiated with RF 24/7 would be beneficial to our health.

Kula, NW Bulgaria

Great potential to be turned into an elegant Town House. The house was built by a local rich Jew, designed by Austrian architects to maintain 16 degrees in the vaulted cellar. Unfortunately, the current owner had replaced the wooden floor with a concrete slab. He is a very famous Bulgarian Video Producer with numerous musical "hits". The price was 40k Euros and had all the plans approved for renovation. Too much work required.

Nikolaevka, Nr Varna

Spacious 5 bedroom villa, a fruit garden with over 50 different trees. Summer kitchen and ready to move in.

We actually agreed a price (195k Euros).

However, there were all sorts of shenanigans going on in the background related to inheritance, so we quitely walked away.
